1.Preheat oven to 150°C/300°F. Grease a deep 23cm (9¼-inch) square cake pan; line base and sides with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above sides.
2.Make cake according to directions on packet. Pour mixture into pan; bake about 50 minutes. Stand cake in pan 5 minutes; turn, top-side up, onto wire rack to cool.
3.To make butter cream, beat butter until white as possible, gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then milk, then remaining icing sugar. Beat until smooth.
4.Level top of cake, position cake, cut-side down, on 30cm (12-inch) round or square prepared cake board or cake plate; secure cake with a little butter cream.
5.Tint remaining butter cream pale green. Spread all over cake.
6.Using picture as a guide, cut three slits in each mint leaf half to make calyx for strawberries. Position calyx on hearts, cut-side down. Position strawberries on cake.
