1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease 23cm x 34cm number eight pan; line base with baking paper.
2.Make cakes according to directions on packets. Pour mixture into pan; bake about 1 hour. Stand cake in pan for 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto a wire rack to cool.
3.Using a serrated knife, level cake top. Secure cake, cut-side down, to 30cm x 48cm covered cake board with a little butter cream.
4.Reserve about 1 teaspoon of the butter cream. Tint half of the remaining butter cream orange; spread over top and side of top cake half. Tint remaining butter cream aqua; spread over top and side of bottom cake half.
5.Cut the heads from Killer Pythons and Snakes Alive. Using the picture as a guide, position pythons around the centre of the cake for octopus tentacles; press gently into butter cream. Position orange snake across top of pythons.
6.Using a little reserved butter cream, attach red Smarties to white Melts to make eyes; position on cake.
7.Decorate head of octopus with Jubes and blue Smarties.
