Method

.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease 27cm x 31cm dinosaur cake pan, dust lightly with flour shake off excess.
.Make cakes according to directions on packets. Pour mixture into pan bake about 45 minutes. Stand cake in pans for 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto wire rack to cool.
.Trim bottom of cake, so cake lies flat. Secure cake on 31cm x 45cm cake board with a little butter cream.
.To make butter cream, beat the butter (and any flavouring, if using) in a small narrow bowl with an electric mixer until the butter is as white as possible (this will result in a whiter butter cream which will give you better results if colouring it). Gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then the milk, then the remaining icing sugar. Beat until the butter cream is smooth and spreadable. Keep scraping down the side of the bowl during beating.
.Tint butter cream yellow; spread all over cake.
.Cut ALLEN’S Teeth to make pointy. Position on cake, using the picture as a guide. Discard head from ALLEN’S SNAKES ALIVE, position snake body on cake to form tongue. Position ALLEN’S FUNFAIR THRILLS Jelly Beans as nose, ALLEN’S Strawberries & Cream as eye and ALLEN’S Banana as eyebrow.
.Cut ALLEN’S Milk Bottles lengthways into three strips; position on cake for scales.
.Cut ALLEN’S Racing Cars into triangles, position down dinosaur’s back for spikes. Cut ALLEN’S CHICOS into triangles to represent claws.

Equipment: 27cm x 31cm dinosaur cake pan; 31cm x 45cm covered cake board. You will need about 6 x 170g packets of ALLEN’S Milk Bottle Mania. Bananas can be found in ALLEN’S Party Mix, and Racing Cars can be found in packets of ALLEN’S Retro Party Mix, Classic Party Mix and Teeth `n’ Stuff.
