Method
.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line 26cm x 36cm baking dish with baking paper, extending paper 5cm above sides. Line 12 hole (2 tablespoon/40ml) flat-based patty pan with paper cases.
.Make cakes according to directions on packets. Drop 2 tablespoons of mixture into each paper case; bake about 20 minutes. Pour remaining mixture into baking dish; bake about 1 hour. Stand cakes in pans for 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto wire racks to cool.
.To make butter cream; beat butter until white as possible, gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then milk, then remaining icing sugar. Beat until smooth.
.Using a serrated knife, level top of large cake. Secure large cake, cut-side down, to 45cm x 55cm covered cake board with a little butter cream.
.Tint cup of the butter cream yellow; spread over four patty cakes. Tint cup butter cream blue; spread over tops of remaining patty cakes. Tint a third of the remaining icing green; spread over centre of large cake in a 22cm x 28cm rectangle. Tint remaining butter cream light blue; spread over sides and top of large cake as pictured. Position patty cakes around large cake.
.Cut licorice into 2 x 22cm and 2 x 28cm lengths; position on cake, using the picture as a guide.
.Cut Allen’s Snakes Alive into 2cm pieces, position on yellow patty cakes to form mouth. To make eyes: secure a white Melt, life savers and Wonka gobstopper together with a little butter cream, secure on cake with butter cream.
.Place Nestlé smarties on green icing to form a number 2. Using the picture as a guide, decorate robot with Allen’s kool fruits.
.Place freckles, lollipops and remaining life savers. Curl pipe cleaners and attach to cake.
