Butter cream


1.Preheat oven to 180&degC. Line six holes of 12-hole (1⁄3 cup/80ml) muffin pan with 5.5cm paper cases.
2.Make cake according to directions on packet; pour cup mixture into each case. Bake, uncovered, in moderate oven about 20 minutes. Stand cakes in pan 5 minutes; turn onto wire rack to cool.
3.To make butter cream, beat butter in small bowl with electric mixer until as pale as possible. Gradually beat in half of the sugar, milk, then remaining sugar.
4.Divide butter cream into six portions; tint one portion with pink; tint remaining five portions with remaining colours for other animals.
5.Spread pink butter cream over top of one cake. Position one marshmallow half for snout and two halves for ears. Position pink M&M’s on marshmallow for nostrils and blue M&M’s on cake for eyes.

The cake mix is enough to make 12 cakes so you can decorate the remaining 6 cakes into other animals of your own choosing.
