1.Preheat oven to 220°C/425°F. Line oven tray with baking paper.
2.Combine chocolate and 2 tablespoons of the ground almonds in small bowl.
3.Cut pastry sheet into quarters, place on tray; prick each with a fork, brush with milk. Divide chocolate mixture onto pastry squares, leaving 2cm (¾-inch) border.
4.Peel and core pear; cut into quarters. Cut each pear quarter into thin slices then spread one sliced pear quarter across each pastry square; sprinkle with sugar then remaining ground almonds.
5.Bake galettes for about 15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
