There’s something special about the sweet flavour that only comes from golden syrup. With this collection of golden syrup recipes, we’ve compiled all of your favourite puddings, dumplings, cakes and more.
What is golden syrup?
Golden syrup is a by-product of refined sugarcane. It’s a thick, amber-hued sugar syrup with a rich sweetness, for all kinds of baked treats. Golden syrup is a key ingredient in our classic golden syrup dumplings and best Anzac biscuits recipes, and is a pantry staple that never goes out of style.
Golden syrup substitute
Both pure maple syrup or honey can be substituted for golden syrup. Treacle (a thicker, darker syrup) is another option, and is more viscous with a stronger flavour and aroma than golden syrup.
