Golden cinnamon biscuits

The dark caramel flavours of brown sugar and golden syrup spiced with cinnamon mean these simple golden cinnamon biscuits are absolutely full of flavour.

Golden cinnamon biscuits
  • 60 gram butter
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup (225g) self-raising flour
  • 3 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease 2 oven trays.

    Combine butter, golden syrup and sugars in a medium heavy-based pan. Stir over low heat until butter is melted; cool for 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cinnamon.

    Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls. Place about 2cm apart on greased oven trays Gently flatten with a floured fork until lcm thick. Bake for about 12 minutes or until browned. Stand for 1 minute before lifting onto wire racks to cool.


Makes about 30.
