1.Cut bacon in half crossways; cook bacon in heated large frying pan until crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
2.Meanwhile, split rolls in half almost all the way through.
3.Just before serving, spread mayonnaise inside rolls; fill rolls with tomato, bacon and lettuce. Season to taste.
We used par-baked small dinner rolls for this recipe; they are available from large supermarkets. Bake them according to directions on packet.Note
