1.Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease and line two 20cm x 30cm lamington pans. Make cakes according to directions on packets, divide mixture between pans, bake oven about 30 minutes. Stand cakes in pans 5 minutes, turn onto wire racks to cool. Using serrated knife, level cake tops so cakes are the same height.
2.Turn cakes cut-side down. Using picture as a guide, mark spaceship shape with toothpick or fine skewer. Cut out cake with sharp knife.
3.Assemble cake pieces on prepared board to form spaceship, as shown. Make cockpit from leftover cake, discard remaining cake. Spread fluffy frosting all over cake.
4.Cut licorice strap into thin strips, using licorice, outline spaceship’s edges.
5.Position green jelly bean in cockpit to represent space traveller. Cut sheet of gelatine to shape of front of cockpit, enclose cockpit with gelatine.
6.Position marshmallows on back of ship to make lights. Position allsorts to make windows and Smarties to make spotlights.
