1.Cut squid down centre to open out; score inside in diagonal pattern then cut into thick strips. Pat dry.
2.Reserve 1 teaspoon spice mix. Combine squid and remaining spice mix in large bowl.
3.Heat oil in large deep frying pan.
4.Just before frying, toss squid, in batches, in cornflour; shake off excess. Deep-fry squid, in batches, until browned lightly and tender. Drain.
5.Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise and reserved spice mix in small bowl.
6.Serve squid with rocket; accompany with mayonnaise.
