1.Grease a deep 23cm round cake pan and line base with baking paper. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2.Beat butter, rind and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until changed to a lighter colour. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until just combined between additions.
3.Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Stir in semolina, almond meal and flour, then yoghurt and juice. Spread mixture into prepared pan, sprinkle with nuts.
4.Bake about 50 minutes. Cover hot cake with foil and stand 10 minutes.
5.To make orange syrup, combine ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Boil, uncovered, without stirring, about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stand 10 minutes.
6.Pour orange syrup over cake and cool in pan.
