If you’re watching Farmer Wants A Wife 2026, you’ll know one of the farmers is also a keen baker! Farmer Zac Kuiper, an orchardist, is a self-confessed sweet tooth who can’t wait to bake treats for his partner. And he’s generously shared his family’s scone recipe with us.
We baked them for afternoon tea in the office, and they were a hit! Will Zac share this family recipe with any of the women on Farmer Wants A Wife this season? We’ll have to wait and see!
Ingredients
Method
Preheat oven to 200°C. Place a baking tray in the oven.
Sift flour, sugar and baking powder into a large bowl. Add butter; use fingertips to rub in butter.
Make a well in centre of flour mixture; add 1 cup milk and the vanilla. Mix with a knife until mixture forms a soft, sticky dough, adding more milk if needed.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently!! Roll out until 2cm thick. Cut scones with cutter.
Place scones on warmed baking tray lined with baking paper; brush tops with milk. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and well risen.
The original scone recipe

We’ve amended the above recipe to add some more specificity, but here you can see the original recipe from Farmer Wants A Wife Zac’s family.
