Method

1.Preheat oven to 150°C (130°C fan-forced).
2.Grease 2 oven trays; line with baking paper.
3.In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, dried fruit and nuts.
4.Melt butter with golden syrup in a small saucepan over low heat; add combined soda and boiling water. Stir warm butter mixture into dry ingredients.
5.Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls, place on trays about 5cm apart; flatten with hand.
6.Bake cookies for about 20 minutes. Cool cookies on trays.
