1.Preheat oven to moderate (180°C/160°C fan-forced).
2.Combine apple, berries, white sugar and the water in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, simmer, stirring, until mixture is combined. Remove from heat.
3.Meanwhile, combine muesli, flour and brown sugar in medium bowl. Use fingertips to rub in butter; stir in cornflakes.
4.Place apple mixture in 2-litre (8-cup) ovenproof dish; sprinkle with muesli mixture.
5.Bake, uncovered, about 20 minutes or until browned lightly. Serve with custard or ice-cream, if desired.
You can substitute pear for the apple, if you like, or even a single berry variety. Fresh or frozen berries can be used. Use fingertips to rub butter into muesli mixture. Sprinkle muesli mixture evenly over apple mixture.
