Whether it’s to soak up the remnants of last night’s over-indulgence or just a hearty way to start the day you can’t beat a good ol’ English fry up. With eggs, bacon, mushrooms and sausage (and tomato for something healthy, of course) it just doesn’t get much better.

There’s something so special about a classic English fry-up complete with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausage and roasted tomatoes. For a proper British version serve with a side of chips.

Sunday fry-up

1.Melt butter in a medium saucepan; cook mushrooms, stirring, for 5 minutes or until tender.
2.Meanwhile, cook sausages and bacon in a heated oiled large frying pan until bacon is crisp and sausages are cooked through. Remove from pan; cover to keep warm. Drain fat from pan.
3.Preheat grill.
4.Place tomato halves, cut-side up, onto a baking tray. Cook under grill until browned.
5.Meanwhile, heat oil in same uncleaned frying pan. Break eggs into pan; cook until egg white has set and yolk is cooked as desired.
6.Serve mushrooms, sausages, bacon, tomato and eggs with thick toast, if you like
