Ingredients

Method

1.

Preheat a 7-litre air fryer to 180°C/350°F for 3 minutes. Grease two 12-hole mini muffin pans (1 tablespoon/20ml).

2.

Place doughnut mix in a medium bowl. Whisk oil, egg and milk in a jug until combined. Gently stir milk mixture into doughnut mix until just combined (do not over-mix). Divide doughnut mixture among pan holes.

3.

Taking care, lower one muffin pan into the air fryer basket; at 180°C/350°F, cook for 8 minutes until doughnuts are golden and a skewer inserted into the centre of one comes out clean. Remove pan from the air fryer. Leave doughnuts in pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool slightly. Repeat cooking with remaining muffin pan of doughnut mixture.

4.

Meanwhile, place cinnamon sugar mix from the packet of doughnut bites mix in a medium bowl. Add orange rind and nutmeg; mix well.

5.

Lightly brush warm doughnut bites with melted butter, then toss in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

6.

Serve doughnut bites warm.

For spiced Nutella doughnut bites, spoon half the doughnut mixture into pan holes, top each with ½ teaspoon Nutella, then spoon remaining doughnut mixture over Nutella. Continue with recipe from step 3.
