1.Dry-fry fennel seeds in small frying pan until fragrant. Break star anise into pieces; grind in mortar and pestle with fennel seeds.
2.Combine minced (ground) pork, ground spice mixture, garlic cloves, ginger, japanese soy sauce and brown sugar in large bowl.
3.Form pork mixture into 8 sausage shapes; cook sausages on heated oiled barbecue flat plate (or grill). Serve with grilled flatbread and a green salad, if you like.
