Method
1.Combine sauce, mirin, honey, juice, water, five-spice, star anise and garlic in small saucepan; bring to the boil then reduce heat.
2.Add ginger, carrot, onion and bamboo shoots; simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and sauce thickens slightly.
Makes enough to go with four 200g servings of poached or steamed snapper. Also goes well with grilled white fish fillets and poached chicken breasts.
