1.Preheat oven to hot, 200°C (180°C fan-forced).
2.Halve wings into drumettes or wingettes; place into a large roasting dish.
3.Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Mix well to coat evenly; roast 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked and sticky.
4.Meanwhile, to make plum sauce, combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes, or until plums, garlic, ginger and onions have softened completely. Remove star anise and cinnamon; push mixture through a coarse sieve.
5.Serve chicken with plum sauce.
