Cinnamon banana fritters

Attention kids!

When you’re cooking, there should always be an adult with you, especially when using knives, a hot stove, boiling water, electrical appliances or the oven.

Peel bananas, then cut in half lengthways.

Prepare pancake shaker mix following packet directions.

Melt half the butter in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Carefully swirl the pan until the butter coats the base evenly.

Working with one banana half at a time, dip into the pancake batter until well coated, then place in the pan. Repeat three more times until you have four banana halves in the pan. Cook for 2 minutes each side or until golden. Transfer banana fritters to a plate and cover to keep warm. Melt remaining butter in pan. Repeat dipping and cooking the remaining banana halves.

Serve banana fritters drizzled with maple syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

Try thinly sliced apple, pear or pineapple instead of banana, if you like.
