Hummus is a popular mezze (appetizer) dish at Middle-Eastern table and restaurant menus. However, you can easily transform it into a rich meal when you add it to spiced fried beef.
The combination of warm spiced beef with the creamy garlicky chickpea dip creates an amazing taste especially if eaten with freshly baked pita bread and some green salad on the side.
1.Blend or process chickpeas, tahini, juice, spices, the water and half the oil until smooth. Season to taste.
2.Heat half the remaining oil in a large frying pan; cook onion and garlic, stirring, until softened. Add beef, spices and half the chilli; cook, stirring, about 15 minutes or until beef is cooked and golden. Add honey; cook about 2 minutes or until mince is crisp. Season to taste.
3.Spread hummus over the base of a large serving platter. Spoon mince mixture over hummus; top with herbs, remaining chilli and remaining oil.
