Chicken schnitzel

Ahhh crumbs!

Sure you can buy a premade schnitzel, but there’s something to say for creating your own from scratch. Coating tender schnitzel in breadcrumbs and frying until golden brown and cooked to tender perfection. Serve with your choice of potato mash, crunchy chips or potatoes and your favourite greens or side dish.

Nothing says classic pub meal like a chicken schnitzel and your favourite pub grub tastes even better when homemade. So whip one up, turn on the footy and enjoy!

Got vegetarian friends coming? We’ve also got a chickpea schnitzel with winter slaw or a whole selection of schnitzel recipes?

1.Dust chicken in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in egg, then coat in combined breadcrumbs and parmesan, pressing firmly. Chill for 15 minutes.
2.Heat butter and oil together in frying pan, until bubbling. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes each side, until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towel.
3.Serve schnitzel with salad or steamed greens.
