Assuming you find yourself with left-over doughnuts to hand, a big assumption granted, there's no better way to eat them than grilled with maple syrup.

1.Split doughnuts in half horizontally. Cook doughnuts, in batches, on a heated, oiled grill plate until browned lightly on both sides.
2.Drizzle doughnuts with maple syrup; serve with ice-cream.

To ensure that you are buying pure maple syrup, check the label – it should be the only ingredient. This recipe is best made just before serving. Not suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.
