Spiced nuts

These smoky spiced macadamias are great for snacking and add a crunchy burst of flavour to sprinkle over salads. They make great gifts too, packed up into jars or cellophane bags.

These spiced nuts made great edible gifts and will keep in glass jars, cellophane bags or an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.




Preheat the oven to 160°C (140°C fan-forced). Line a large oven tray with baking paper.


Combine sugar, spices and salt in a small bowl.


Place macadamias in a large bowl and add oil; toss to coat. Sprinkle the macadamias with spice mixture; toss to coat well.


Place the macadamia mixture on prepared tray. Roast for 20 minutes or until the macadamias are golden, stirring halfway through cooking. Sprinkle over extra sea salt flakes.

For a kid-friendly version, leave out the chilli powder.
