1.Preheat oven to 200ºC/180ºC fan-forced.
2.Grease 12-hole (⅓ -cup/80ml) muffin pan.
3.Place banana muffin mix in large bowl; stir in dates then water. Divide mixture into pan holes; bake about 20 minutes.
4.Combine brown sugar, cream and butter in small pan; stir over low heat until smooth.
5.Simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
6.Stand muffins in pan 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto wire rack to cool. Serve muffins with sauce.
