Scalloped potatoes

A well-loved side dish for many years, this simple and classic scalloped potatoes dish by Women's Day is always met with claps and squeals of delight. The kids love it, too.

Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Rub a shallow ovenproof dish with garlic. Butter dish generously. Lay potato slices in dish.
2.Bring milk to a boil, then remove from heat instantly. Add nutmeg, then season to taste. Pour over potatoes in dish. Sprinkle with cheese and dot with remaining butter.
3.Bake for 55-60 minutes, until potatoes are tender and golden. Cover with foil if potatoes are browning too quickly. Serve.
