Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease and flour cake pan.
2.Make one cake according to directions on packet. Pour mixture into pan; bake cake about 50 minutes. Stand cake in pan for 10 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto a wire rack to cool. Repeat with second butter cake mix (see tip).
3.Using a serrated knife, level cake tops so cakes are the same height when placed side-by-side to form a rocket ship (one cake will be upside down, the other right-side up). Using the picture as a guide, trim the cake to resemble a rocket shape; secure to cake board with a little butter cream.
4.To make butter cream; beat butter until white as possible, gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then milk, then remaining icing sugar. Beat until smooth. Tint butter cream purple; spread all over cakes.
5.Decorate rocket with ALLEN’S Jelly Beans; halve 7 white Jelly Beans crossways to make circle.
6.Position sparklers in the cake; light sparklers just before serving.

Equipment 21cm x 32cm number 1 cake pan (see tip) 35cm x 45cm covered cake board. After turning the first cake out of the pan, wash the cake pan and rinse it in cold water, then dry, to remove any residual heat.
