Method

1.Stir ingredients in small saucepan over low heat, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil then reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, 3 minutes.

For a lavish touch, add ¼ cup raisins and 1 tablespoon rum or brandy. Serve over ice- cream or baked apples.
