Honey and five-spice beef with broccolini
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 4 centimetre (20g) piece fresh ginger, grated
- 750 gram beef strips
- 2 tablespoon peanut oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 350 gram broccolini, coarsely chopped
- 1/3 cup (35g) walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Method
Honey and five-spice beef with broccolini
- 1In a large bowl, combine five-spice, ginger, beef and half the oil. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
- 2Heat remaining oil in wok. In batches, stir-fry beef until browned.
- 3Add sauce, honey and juice to wok and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes.
- 4Return beef to wok with broccolini and stir-fry until broccolini is tender. Remove from heat; sprinkle with nuts and seeds to serve.
