Method

1.Preheat oven to 220°C and grease an oven tray.
2.Sift flour into bowl and rub in butter. Add buttermilk, figs and honey and mix to a soft dough. Turn dough onto floured surface; knead lightly until smooth.
3.Shape dough into 8cm x 24cm log and place on oven tray. Dust log with extra sifted flour; cut slashes into top of log. Bake 10 minutes.
4.Reduce oven temperature to 180°C and bake a further 10 minutes. Place damper onto wire rack, cover and cool.
