1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20cm x 30cm rectangular pan; line base and long sides with baking paper, extending paper 5cm over sides.
2.In a medium saucepan, stir sugar and butter over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat; stir in sifted flour, then egg yolk. Press mixture firmly over base of pan; bake about 10 minutes or until browned lightly. Cool.
3.Meanwhile, make fruity choc topping.
4.Spread topping over base; bake about 25 minutes or until browned lightly. Cool in pan.

5.In a small bowl, beat eggs and sugar with electric mixer until thick and pale; transfer to large bowl, fold in sifted flour then remaining ingredients.
