Bagel chips

These bagel chips are just perfect served alongside soups or dips. The sprinkling of the dried oregano turns the humble chip into a fragrant and tasty snack just right for dipping. You might also add a touch of salt.

Bagel chips
  • 4 bagels
  • 3 teaspoon peanut oil
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    Preheat oven to moderately slow, 180°C.

    Using a serrated or electric knife, cut bagels into very thin slices. Place slices in single layer on oven trays; brush lightly on one side of each slice with combined oil, garlic and oregano.

    Bake, uncovered, in moderately slow oven about 15 minutes or until browned lightly; cool chips on trays.


Bagel chips can be made one month ahead and stored in an airtight container.
