Thai beef salad recipe variations
For a change, substitute chicken, lamb or pork for the beef. For a vegetarian version of this Thai beef salad, char-grill slices of firm tofu and swap fish sauce for light soy sauce.
Cook steak on a heated oiled barbecue (or grill or grill pan) for 3 minutes each side for medium rare or until cooked as desired. Transfer to a warm plate, cover and rest for 5 minutes.
CHILLI LIME DRESSING: Meanwhile, combine all ingredients in a screw-top jar; shake well.
Just before serving, arrange lettuce, herbs, shallot, tomatoes on a serving platter. Top with warm sliced steak and drizzle over Chilli Lime Dressing. Serve with steamed rice, if desired.
