1.Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir onion over medium heat until soft.
2.Add remaining ingredients and stir over heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour or until thick.
3.Pour relish into hot sterilised jars and seal immediately.
