Is there anyone who doesn’t love a baked brie? Think of that gooey, melted perfection that comes out of the oven and spreads ever so perfectly on a lightly salted cracker or hunk of fresh bread.
Serve baked brie with…
Walnuts don’t appeal to you? Try pecans or cashews instead. Other accompaniments that go well with brie include dried fruit such as dates and figs, cured meats, stone fruits, crusty French bread, and other charcuterie items. Spread it all out on a beautiful board or platter so everyone can dig in.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan forced).
Open the brie box, remove the lining wrapper. Line the base and side of the box with baking paper, extending paper 1cm above the side. Return brie to box.
Score surface of brie at 1cm intervals, 1cm deep.
Cut quince paste into strips, insert into cuts. Top with walnuts and replace box lid. Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.
Serve with crackers and wedges of pear.
