Croissant breakfast ideas for the air fryer

S’mores

Prep + cook time: 10 minutes 
Serves: 4

Preheat a 5.3-litre air fryer to 160°C for 3 minutes.

Cut 4 mini croissants in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through.

Break 100g good-quality dark chocolate into pieces.

Fill each croissant with a quarter of the chocolate and 2 marshmallows, then top with 2 mini chocolate Oreos.

Taking care, place the loaded croissants in the air fryer basket; cook for 6 minutes or until golden and chocolate and marshmallows are melted.

Brie, fig & hazelnut

Prep + cook time: 10 minutes 
Serves: 4

Preheat a 5.3-litre air fryer to 160°C for 3 minutes.

Cut 4 croissants in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through.

Cut 4 soft, juicy figs into 4 slices each. Cut a 125g block of Brie into 8 slices. Spread 2 tsp caramelised onion on the base of each croissant, then top with a quarter of the sliced fig and Brie. Scatter each with 2 tsp halved roasted hazelnuts and 1 tsp thyme leaves, then drizzle with 1 tsp honey.

Taking care, place the loaded croissants in the air fryer basket; cook for 6 minutes or until golden and Brie is soft. Season with freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with a little extra honey.

Biscoff & banana

Prep + cook time: 15 minutes 
Serves: 4

Combine ⅓ cup (35g) walnuts with 2 tsp maple syrup in a small ovenproof dish. Place dish in a 5.3-litre air fryer; at 180°C, cook for 4 minutes until crunchy. Add 2 crumbled Biscoff biscuits and toss to combine. Set nut mixture aside to serve.

Cut 4 mini croissants in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through. Spread 1 tbsp Biscoff spread on the base of each croissant; top each with ¼ sliced large banana. Taking care, place loaded croissants in the air fryer basket; cook for 6 minutes or until golden and crisp.

Serve croissants scattered with nut mixture and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream; drizzle with extra maple syrup.

Antipasto

Prep + cook time: 10 minutes 
Serves: 4

Preheat a 5.3-litre air fryer to 160°C for 3 minutes.

Cut 4 croissants in half horizontally, without cutting all the way through.

Fill each croissant with 30g thickly sliced firm ricotta, 2 halved pitted Kalamata olives, 1 sliced semi-dried tomato, 3 strips roasted capsicum (bell pepper) and ½ slice torn prosciutto.
