Creamy salmon gnocchi

This recipe pairs store bought gnocchi with a creamy sauce and delicate salmon for an easy and delicious meal. If you have a bit more time then you can make your own gnocchi as well.


Creamy salmon gnocchi
  • potato gnocchi
  • 500 gram packet salmon fillet, skinless,
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 lemon, grated zest
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • basil, chopped


Creamy salmon gnocchi

    Cook gnocchi in a saucepan boiling, salted water following packet instructions. Drain well.

    Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan on medium. Brush salmon with a little oil and season to taste. Cook 2-3 minutes each side for medium, or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate.

    Heat remaining oil in same pan on medium. Sauté garlic 1 minute, taking care not to burn. Stir in sour cream, peas and juice. Bring to a simmer.

    Add drained gnocchi to pan and toss well. Season to taste. Remove from heat. Stir basil and zest through.

    Divide among serving bowls and flake over salmon.
