Asian grilled chicken with green beans

Hoisin sauce is a thick, strongly flavoured sauce that is very common in Chinese cuisine. Its sweet and salty taste works well as a glaze for meat, an addition to stir fries, or as dipping sauce. It is perfect with grilled chicken.

  • 2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 centimetre piece fresh ginger (10g), grated
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 6 chicken thigh fillets (660g), halved
  • 400 gram green beans, trimmed
  • 2 teaspoon peanut oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoon oyster sauce

    Combine hoisin, juice, soy, ginger and garlic in medium bowl, add chicken; turn chicken to coat in marinade. Cover; refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Cook drained chicken on heated oiled grill plate (or grill or barbecue) until cooked through.

    Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave beans until just tender; drain. Heat oil in medium frying pan; cook beans, onion and oyster sauce, stirring, until heated through.

    Serve chicken and beans with steamed jasmine rice, if desired.
