Lamb sausages with pea mash

Lamb sausages with pea mash
  • 1 kilogram (2 pounds) potatoes, chopped coarsely
  • 1 cup (120g) frozen peas
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) buttermilk
  • 8 thick lamb sausages (1.2kg)

    Boil, steam or microwave potato and peas, separately, until tender; drain. Mash potato; stir in peas and buttermilk. Season to taste.

    Meanwhile, cook sausages in heated oiled large frying pan.

    Serve sausages with pea mash.


If you don't have buttermilk, stir 2 teaspoons lemon juice into ²/³ cup (180ml) low-fat milk.
