Buttery mashed celeriac

Simple, smooth and creamy, buttery mashed celeriac is a fabulous side dish, either in place of or as well as mashed potato.

Buttery mashed celeriac
  • 2 kilogram celeriac, peeled, chopped
  • 90 gram butter, chopped
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives


Buttery mashed celeriac

    Boil or steam celeriac until tender. Drain.

    Mash celeriac with most of the butter until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with remaining butter and chives.
