Sesame chicken salad

Chicken salad
  • 150 gram snow peas
  • 4 cup (400g) shredded chicken
  • 100 gram snow pea sprouts
  • 2 cup (160g) bean sprouts
  • 2 trimmed sticks celery (200g), sliced thinly
  • 4 green onions, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds dressing
Sesame dressing
  • 2 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 tablespoon kecap manis
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

    Place snow peas in medium bowl. Cover with boiling water; drain immediately. Cover snow peas with cold water in same bowl; stand 2 minutes. Drain; slice thinly.

    Next make dressing. Combine peanut oil, sesame oil, five-spice powder, kecap manis and lime juice in a scre-top jar. Shake well.

    Combine snow peas in large bowl with chicken, snow pea sprouts, bean sprouts, celery, onion and dressing; toss gently to combine.

    Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.


You need to purchase a large barbecued chicken, weighing approximately 900g, for this recipe.
