Serve these hot cross bun waffles with maple syrup, as part of an ice-cream sundae or use for an Easter-themed ice-cream sandwich.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat a waffle iron to high heat. Slice hot cross buns horizontally in half. Brush each side with butter and press into sugar.
Lightly spray the waffle iron with oil spray. Working in batches, place the hot cross buns in the waffle iron and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until golden, caramelised and crisp. Set aside to cool on a wire rack. Repeat with remaining hot cross bun halves.
Once cooled, drizzle with dark and Caramilk chocolate and set aside to set.
Gluten-free hot cross buns are also delicious as waffle wafers.
