Vegetable mash alternatives when you’re bored of potatoes

Let's do the mash!

While we are certainly partial to a bowl, or two, of creamy, cheesy potato mash, it’s not always the healthiest dinner option to accompany our already rich curries and casseroles.

Instead, why not go for a lighter version? We’ve pulled together a selection of our favourite vegie-based mashes, perfect for acting as the base to our sauces, roast lamb and steamed peas.

There’s all the usual suspects like kumara (orange sweet potato) and celeriac, but there’s also a couple of other vegetable mashes you may not have experimented with yet.

Here you’ll find recipes for our pea and white bean mash, and carrot and cauliflower mash… The options really are endless.
