Tea party tipple
- 20 centimetre stalk fresh lemongrass, trimmed, cut in half lengthways
- 2 earl grey tea bags
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 1 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 600 millilitre chilled dry ginger ale
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup gin
Method
Tea party tipple
- 1Place lemongrass in a heatproof jug. Add tea bags, sugar and boiling water, stir until sugar dissolves. Stand 10 minutes.
- 2Discard tea bags. Cover and refrigerate until cold. To serve, fill one-third of a jug with ice; sliced lemon, tea mixture and lemongrass stalks. Stir in ginger ale, lemon juice and gin to combine.
