Sesame pork stir-fry
  • 750 gram pork steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 long red chillies, sliced thinly (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup (200g) medium grain rice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • steamed gai larn (chinese broccoli) and baby pak (bok) choy, to serve

    Combine pork, teriyaki sauce, sugar, juice, garlic, chilli and sesame oil in a large bowl. Stand for 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave rice until just tender; drain.

    Drain the marinade from the pork; reserve marinade. Heat half the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan; stir-fry pork, in batches, until browned.

    Add reserved marinade and pork to the wok and bring to the boil; stir-fry until hot. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

    Serve pork with rice, broccoli and baby pak choy.
