Scrumptious steak sandwiches
  • 8 slices ciabatta bread
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 3 tomatoes, thickly sliced
  • 8 sirloin or fillet minute steaks (about 60 g each) or sizzle steaks
  • 1 spanish onion, sliced into rounds
  • bunch of rocket leaves

    To toast bread: Place char-grill pan or frying pan on high heat. Cook bread slices on one side only for about 30 to 60 seconds, or until crisp.

    To prepare filling: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, garlic, sauce and mustard, stir to combine. Spread over untoasted sides of bread slices. Top with sliced tomato.

    Drizzle steaks and onion with a little olive oil. Cook meat for about 1 to 2 minutes each side, or to your liking.

    Place steaks on slices of bread with tomato. Top with onion, rocket and remaining slices of bread. Tie with string (for decoration and to hold the stack together). Serve.


You can add Swiss cheese on the bread - before adding the steak - to allow the cheese to melt slightly.
