Ranch beef burgers

Topped with a dollop of that classic dressing, these American-style ranch beef burgers by Woman's Day are simple, hearty and delicious. Serve them with a side of oven baked wedges.

Ranch beef burgers
  • 500 gram beef mince
  • 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 tablespoon american mustard
  • 4 hamburger buns, halved, toasted
  • 1/2 iceberg lettuce, leaves torn
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • dill pickles, sliced, to serve
Ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon chopped dill
  • 2 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 clove garlic, crushed

    In a large bowl, combine mince, breadcrumbs, onion, egg and mustard. Season to taste and mix well. Shape into 4 even patties.

    Heat an oiled, non-stick frying pan on medium. Cook patties 5-7 minutes each side, until cooked through. Keep warm.

    To make ranch dressing: in a small bowl, mix all ingredients together. Season to taste.

    Fill each roll with lettuce and tomato slices. Top with a burger patty and a few dollops of dressing. Serve with sliced dill pickles.
