Ingredients

Porridge with pear compote
  • 3 1/2 cup (875ml) hot water
  • 1 1/2 cup (135g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) milk
  • 1 pear (180g), peeled, cored, chopped coarsely
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
  • 2 tablespoon blueberries

Method

Porridge with pear compote

    Combine the hot water and oats in a medium saucepan over medium heat; cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until porridge is thick and creamy. Stir in milk.

    Meanwhile, place pear and the water in a small saucepan; bring to the boil. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until soft.

    Serve porridge topped with pear and 1 tablespoon of the poaching liquid; sprinkle with berries.
