Pesto sauce

Your own homemade classic Italian pesto sauce made with basil. Take advantage of basil in season and make plenty for your friends.

Pesto sauce
  • 2 cup (80g) basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup (75g) pine nuts, toasted
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/3 cup (30g) grated parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup (185ml) olive oil


Pesto sauce

    Combine all ingredients, except the olive oil, in a food processor and process until combined.

    With the motor running, slowly add the oil and adjust seasoning to taste.


Serve with pasta, on toast or in salad dressings.
